Description
DescriptionThe Associate Director will Implement a fundraising and development strategy for the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute. This strategy will strengthen ties with current donors and friends of the Institute, Identify a new generation of donors, and forge strategic partnerships with outside groups and within SIU. This strategy Will include a plan to build relationships with major foundations and endowments and tap Into the philanthropic community. As the fundraising and development officer for the Institute, the Associate Director will serve as a liaison between the Institute and SIU Foundation.
The target salary offer for this position is $8,583.00 monthly, and the full pay range for this position is $103,000.00 annually. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
Examples of Duties
The Associate Director will serve as the Institute's Chief of Staff and as Development Officer. The person in this position will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the institute's dally operations
- Program development and Implementation
- Building alliances with donors and friends of the Institute
- Forging strategic partnerships with external groups and within SIU
- Developing a donor cultivation strategy
- Making fundraising trips as well as handling the logistics for all fund raising events
- Researching and writing grant proposals The Associate Director will align Institute programs and initiatives with its fund raising efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and at least three years professional work experience related to public affairs OR Bachelor's degree and at least five years of professional work experience related to public affairs. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Position will require travel.
Preferred Qualifications: A proven ability to successfully conduct major fundraising and development campaigns.
