Job DescriptionThe Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time radiation oncologist at the Associate or Professor level (commensurate with previous experience). The department provides radiation oncology services at 8 practice settings in Maryland, with a vigorous program of research across basic, translational, and clinical foci. The ideal candidate will have a record of excellence in leadership, clinical practice and documented success in academic research and extramural support.
As Executive Vice Chair/Vice Chair of Research, this faculty position will provide strategic vision for our department's research endeavors. These include our Division of Translational Radiation Sciences, with a distinguished history of achievement and grant/contract funding in cellular responses to DNA damage, development of original preclinical models of radiation effects on normal tissue, and medical countermeasures research; and the collaborative translational efforts of our large Medical Physics team, noted for introduction of innovative technologies and standard setting in quality assurance measures. The position will also work closely with our nationally recognized clinical research team and participate in providing patient care at the Maryland Proton Treatment Center and/or another of our clinical sites. In addition to an Endowed Professorship, this position comes with a competitive start-up package.

Salary Range. Min; $348,000. Max; $622,000
The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Radiation Oncology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Radiation Oncology variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications
Candidates must be board certified/ eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology and eligible for
an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited
domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work
well in a team setting.
