Position: Full-Time Trial Attorney (1099 Independent)
Compensation: $100,000 base retainer annually + discretionary performance bonuses (potentially large).
About Us:
SCROOGE is a rapidly growing company in the entertainment sector, led by CEO James Peters. We are seeking a fearless attorney to serve as full-time counsel for SCROOGE while also engaging in pro bono representation related to the ongoing Alexandria, Indiana water crisis.
The Role:
Serve as legal counsel for SCROOGE (contracts, compliance, general corporate).
Lead pro bono representation of families impacted by contaminated water in Madison County. Non-Negotiable.
File lawsuits, subpoenas, and pursue accountability against corrupt officials and entities.
Work directly with James Peters as part of a high-visibility fight for justice.

Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Indiana (required).
Minimum 3-5 years litigation or trial experience, preferably in civil rights, toxic tort, corporate litigation, or complex commercial disputes.
Proven ability to handle court filings, discovery, depositions, and jury trials.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, compliance, contracts, and regulatory frameworks.
Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Preferred Experience
Prior involvement in class actions, mass torts, or civil rights cases.
Experience with regulatory agencies (e.g., IDEM, EPA, or similar).
Media-savvy: comfortable making statements or appearing in public forums when necessary.
Entrepreneurial mindset understands how to scale legal strategies alongside a fast-growing company.
