Overview
The Blue Wave compliance teams ensure committees comply with federal, state, and local election laws. We provide full-service accounting customized to each campaign’s day-to-day operations in addition to generating and filing campaign disclosure reports. Our responsibilities on campaigns also include detailed record keeping, filing relevant forms with other state and federal agencies as required, processing physical and electronic contributions through various channels, and providing regular financial reports to the campaign team.
Requirements
Manager responsibilities include:
Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required campaign finance reports
Process campaign contributions including data entry into filing software, screening for compliances issue, and assisting with banking deposits
Process expenses and correspond with vendors on behalf of the campaign
Reconcile bank accounts against campaign finance records
Manages accurate client record retention in accordance with Federal Election Commission and/or state and local regulations
Review and manage campaign data and records with a high degree of accuracy
Promptly respond to and manage a diverse array of requests, and communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues
Skills:
Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines and prioritize tasks is essential
Exceedingly organized with excellent attention to detail
Discretion and professional approach to sensitive information
Able to navigate multiple banking systems, merchant accounts, and filing systems including but not limited to NGP and FECFile
Proficiency with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks
Thorough understanding of knowledge of campaign finance regulations for various types of committees including federal candidate committees, PACs, and joint fundraising committees
FEC form competency (Form 1, 2, 3, 3X, 99) in terms of generating and reading reports in both Excel and PDF formats, and navigating the FEC website and resources
Ability to be in-person daily in our Washington, DC or Seattle, WA office
At least 5 years of experience in political campaign compliance, accounting, reporting.
