- Deputy Director of Plant Operations
Description
DUTIES: Directs, supervises, and evaluates the Water Filtration and Wastewater Plants along with the Collection System Lift Stations. Develops administrative procedures, operating budgets, capital budgets and manages approved monies for the fiscal year for the Water Filtration Plant, (2) Wastewater Plants, and (93) Lift Stations. Develops and updates standard operating procedures for Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory Compliance, Safety and Quality. Manages and directs the activities of assigned staff, coordinates, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects. Attends regular employee, process control and engineering meetings and assigns follow-up tasks from meetings for operations staff as needed. Serves as a technical liaison and participates in design workshops, working groups, special projects and other initiatives as a technical resource. Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Executive Director.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science or technical degree in civil, environmental, sanitary engineering, business or public administration is preferred. Must have Indiana State Class IV Wastewater License and Indiana WT5 Water Treatment License or the ability to get within 18 months of placement. Incumbent must hold and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license. Seven (7) years of administrative and technical experience related to drinking water, wastewater, and laboratory analysis and interpretation with at least five (5) years of managerial experience.
Strong leadership, supervisory, delegating, and communication skills. Any combination of training, education and experience that provides the knowledge skills and ability to perform the functions of this position will be considered.
