- Echo Lab Director, Division of Cardiology, Univ of Washington

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Cardiologist to direct the Echocardiography Lab at the University of Washington Medical Center. The faculty appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank, WOT (without tenure by reason of funding). Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Professor WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a nationally-renowned Echocardiography lab in an academic health system committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and cardiovascular research. The Echo lab director will work with the UW Heart Institute Medical Director and University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Cardiology Service Chief to guide quality and operations of the echo lab at UWMC-Montlake and other Montlake-affiliated echo sites. They will supervise the echo lab directors at UWMC-Northwest and Harborview Medical Center and help mentor the academic careers of the echocardiography faculty within a strong culture of innovation.
The successful candidate will read resting and stress echocardiograms, perform transesophageal echocardiograms, see patients in the outpatient clinic, and attend on inpatient or consult Cardiology services at UWMC. The teaching activities of this position will include didactic and echo lab teaching to Cardiology fellows. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarship.

The base salary range for this position will be $20,000-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

Requirements
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified/eligible in Cardiology and Echocardiography (or foreign equivalent), have ACC/AHA/ASE level III echocardiography training, and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Candidates should have a demontrated record of research and publication. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
