Description
OverviewResponsible for promoting the game of golf and the club while providing the Three Steps of Service to the Members and guests of the club. Responsible for providing quality service, ordering necessary merchandise and managing the golf shop operations, including outside services.
This position reports directly to the Director of Golf or Head Golf Pro and indirectly to the General Manager of the club. This position indirectly supervises outside service personnel.
Experience Required
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, is required.
- Customer service experience. Basic Golf Knowledge Required.
- You can be trusted to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary Company information and sensitive employee matters, except as expressly authorized by the Company.
- You always perform at the highest level of ethical work standards.
- You are comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
Essential Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding service in a hospitality focused and friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of high-end private club experience.
- Empowered to guarantee total satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our members and their invited guests at all times, take pride in representing Craig Ranch professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions are handled in the highest service manner.
- Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all Club employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
- Communicate with staff and members via email, text, and radio (with earpiece).
Essential Job Functions:

- Meet financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions to ensure meeting goals and objectives.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing, including but not limited to, establishing preferred vendors, selecting and purchasing quantities of goods and merchandise, development of private label product, pricing of merchandise, and negotiation contracts with vendors. Merchandise selected for Craig Ranch must surpass our Member and guest's expectations, while achieving and maintaining revenue and profit goals.
- Ensure merchandise is neat, clean and pressed for presentation in the Golf Shop to the Club's standards.
- Formulate pricing policies that ensure all Club products are priced correctly.
- Prepare attractive and creative in-store displays and visual merchandising.
- Attend trade shows to identify new products and services, source new vendors, and stay current on current and future trends that will appeal to Members and guests.
- Prepare Open-to-Buy plan annually to Director of Golf Operations.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance and consistency standards.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
- Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
- Maintain privacy of our Members and their invited guests at all time.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors.
- Perform work in a safe and high quality manner.
- Project a favorable image of TPC Craig Ranch to Members and guests at all times.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Prepare merchandise Training Manuals as needed.
- Work with managers to source employee uniforms as needed.
- Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock. Keep up with fluctuating supply and demand.
- Analyze Golf Shop operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
- Utilize information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning.
- Ensure standards for quality, customer service and Club culture expectations are met.
- Prepare staff work schedules to accommodate the expected business demand.
- Conduct regular product knowledge training with retail staff; help sales team achieve sales targets.
- Handle Member and guest questions, complaints, and issues.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Golf Shop.
- Review, analyze and monitor invoices to ensure we are charged correctly, products arrived as expected and the product standard meets expectation. Handle adjustments and returns as needed.

- Maintain good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas of the Club and assure that others are acting safely.
- Attend daily line-up and participate as requested.
- Wear a clean and neat uniform that follows Invited and your property uniform standards daily.
