Description
Vice President - Financial Advisory Services (Restructuring & Turnaround Advisory)Location: Boston, Dallas, or Detroit.
Our client, a leading middle-market advisory platform, is seeking a Vice President to join its Financial Advisory Services team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience advising underperforming, distressed, and special situation companies across a variety of strategic and financial initiatives, including restructuring, turnaround management, performance improvement, interim management, and transaction-related advisory services.
The Vice President will play a key role in both client engagement execution and business development efforts, working directly with senior leadership and clients to deliver solutions to complex operational and financial challenges. This position offers significant client exposure, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-impact assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate historical and projected financial performance, including the development and management of 13-week cash flow models and liquidity forecasts.
- Lead financial, operational, and commercial due diligence efforts for client engagements.
- Manage day-to-day execution of restructuring, turnaround, and performance improvement projects while maintaining strict timelines and deliverable quality.
- Prepare complex financial analyses, forecasts, management presentations, and other client-facing materials.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic decision-making and stakeholder communications.
- Assist with business development initiatives, proposal development, and marketing efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospective clients, lenders, investors, and professional advisors.
- Mentor and oversee junior team members across multiple engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in restructuring, turnaround consulting, financial advisory, special situations, or related corporate finance disciplines.
- Strong financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing client engagements and interacting directly with senior executives and stakeholders.
- CPA, CFA, or significant accounting/GAAP expertise preferred.
- Prior experience in mergers & acquisitions, transaction advisory, restructuring advisory, or performance improvement consulting is highly desirable.
Preferred Background
Successful candidates will likely come from restructuring advisory firms, turnaround consultancies, corporate finance advisory practices, transaction advisory teams, or investment banking restructuring groups. Experience working with distressed companies, liquidity management, creditor/debtor situations, operational improvement initiatives, and complex stakeholder environments is strongly preferred.
