- LIHEAP/CSBG Program Manager
Description
We're seeking a Program Manager to join our team and support our mission of improving Federal and state grant programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in grant monitoring of LIHEAP or CSBG grants, as well as managing project teams and client relationships. This essential role involves ensuring financial integrity, pinpointing areas for improvement, and helping organizations better serve the public. This position is contingent upon a successful contract award. Travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and monitor a project workplan, ensuring effective allocation of resources resulting in deliverables that are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage the client relationship, including leading client meetings, providing timely status and report updates, and skillfully advising and guiding the client through project completion, ensuring their needs are met in a way that reflects well on the organization.
- Oversee reviews of grantees reporting on noteworthy practices, compliance findings, and opportunities for improvement in both financial and programmatic administration.
- Ensure high-level quality in all client deliverables by implementing or adhering to a quality control system for monitoring and reviewing work.
- Direct staff to assess the financial integrity of grant recipients' systems, including internal controls, to prevent and detect improper payments, fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Develop a summary of trending topics from compliance reviews and present findings to stakeholders during webinars and other events.
- Manage staff, ensuring expectations are clear, one-on-one meetings and team meetings are scheduled frequently, and performance issues are handled effectively.
- A degree in management, public administration, or a related field.
- Six or more years of experience working with federal grants nationally (e.g., LIHEAP, CSBG, CED, AFI, etc.).
- Three years of experience leading teams with positive results and a passion for building successful teams.
- Three years of experience managing client relationships and projects with a track record of meeting client deliverable deadlines on time and on budget.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to provide technical assistance professionally.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly without clerical, spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to match field conditions with relevant federal statutes, regulations, grant requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent time-management and critical thinking skills to analyze data and form a judgment based on technical knowledge of grant programs.
- Experience using the TeamMate+ monitoring platform is a desired skill.
- Travel is required.
