WJAC is looking for a television production minded person to be part of the news and production team, directing live newscasts daily. We have a new, modern set that is a canvas for creative storytelling with multiple visual elements. Everyday we explore new ways to utilize this network quality set. Our control rooms are being updated to a new Ross directing system. We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged by news talent, producers and other directors to create the best visual newscast possible.

Responsibilities:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

• Direct (which is technical directing as well) any assigned newscasts and productions
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Edit video for newscasts
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements:

• Experience Directing and technical directing newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment, experience with Ross is a plus
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to clearly give direction to talent and producers while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
