Position Overview
We are searching for a qualified Programmer/Analyst to be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions to support the daily operations and growth of the credit union, with a focus on programming within the Symitar/Episys environment utilizing appropriate programming languages. Adhering to full project lifecycle development; analyzing requirements, designing specifications, developing code, testing, troubleshooting and implementing programs into the production system(s). This position will perform software integration and external application interface development involving third party platforms. This position also participates as back up Help Desk support.

Requirements
Education and Experience
BS/BA degree or completion of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree is required—Computer Science or other IT related degree preferred.
Minimum three to eight years significant programming experience, preferably in a financial institution.
Experience with the Symitar core platform and its technologies is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Writes efficient, scalable, and maintainable code using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
2. Experience in system development and maintenance, including knowledge of the software development life cycle process and structured systems development techniques.
Collaborates with stakeholders and departments across the organization, troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, performs bug fixes, and implements enhancements based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments and vendors to ensure requirements, limitations, and updates are properly communicated, and deliverables are completed to meet organizational needs.
Conducts testing and debugging of software applications, identifies and resolves issues, and ensures the delivery of high-quality solutions.
6. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for communicating with co-workers.
7. Requires knowledge of Credit Union products, services and delivery channels.
8. Work requires thorough knowledge of the Credit Union’s data processing system, as well as the systems it supports.
9. Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
10. Demonstrated effective analytical and decision making skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other programs (Adobe Acrobat, Docusign) required
Requirements
1. Performs required programming tasks including program design, program coding, debugging, report writing and documentation preparation.
2. Automates processes credit union wide to achieve operation efficiency through the use of Symitar’s report generator/power on/power frame docs/microapps/ARCU, plus lending and online/mobile banking systems APIs.
3. Reviews system documentation and software releases to maximize the credit union’s use of the Episys software and to maintain a high level working knowledge of the system.
4. Supports strategic initiatives by maintaining awareness and exposure to new technologies.
5. Assist in new product development and testing as related to these systems.
6. Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
7. Maintain files, records and reports in accordance with procedures and regulations.
8. Research and resolve problems and discrepancies.
9. Assist supervisor in direction, maintenance, and enhancements to the Disaster Recovery process related to these systems.
10. Provides back-up support for network and other hardware systems.
11. Comply with and follow Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
12. Ability to work in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
