Sightline is seeking a Sightline Testing Team ERP Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the testing strategy, execution, and reporting for Workday applications. This position requires a strong understanding of Workday (or similar ERP) functionalities, testing methodologies, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will lead a team of testing coordinators, collaborate with various stakeholders, and ensure that all testing activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Workday testing coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Testing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies and plans for Workday modules, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
- Test Planning and Execution: Oversee the creation of test cases, test scripts, and test data, ensuring thorough testing of all Workday functionalities, including functional, regression, user acceptance, and performance testing.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that testing aligns with business needs.
- Defect Management: Manage defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring timely communication of issues and status updates to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing methodologies and tools, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting and Metrics: Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, results, and quality metrics to senior management and project teams.
- Training and Development: Facilitate training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members and stakeholders on testing processes, tools, and Workday functionalities.
Specific Devices, Software, Projects
- Workday's suite of applications will be the focus of this position.
Scale/size of Area, Project and/or System Supported
- Works in a highly complex 70+ server environment supporting Johns Hopkins Enterprise Employee Resource Planning (ERP) solutions.
- Workday software is an integrated development solution incorporating JH's key business functions of Human Resources (Payroll, Benefits), Materials Management (Purchasing, and Inventory Management), Grants/Funds Management, Finance and Accounting.
- The Workday system will support over 60,000 users with the HCM module through payroll and benefits.
- Workday will interface to over 450+ other internal and external systems including student services, banks, benefit providers, clinical applications, and e-commerce hubs to support the daily functions of the university and health system organizations.
On-call Requirements
- Manages a team with members that may be required to be on-call during specific time periods during the implementation and go-live of the Workday environment.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of Workday or similar HR/Financial systems modules and functionalities, along with testing methodologies and best practices.
- Proven experience in leading testing teams and managing complex testing projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with testing tools and automation solutions.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Position manages a team of Sr. Testing Software Engineers and Testing Software Engineers
Additional Information
- The work hours will primarily be regular day shift office hours. However, there may be times when employees are required to work off hours to respond to project inquiries, adhere to project deadlines and meet the overall needs of a 24/7 health system/university.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or relevant functional area.
- Ten years broad experience in a senior level position with a combination in IT and business best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in testing management or similar ERP experience, preferably with a focus on Workday or similar HR/Financial systems.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the full life cycle of software development projects (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance).
- Workday certification.
- Familiarity with Workday Testing functionality.
- Kainos experience.

This salary range does not include all components of the Sightline compensation program. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary slightly from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
