OverviewThe Organization:
The Southern Nevada Chapter of the Southwest Section PGA serves the men and women PGA Professionals and Associates in the geographical area of Southern Nevada (Las Vegas). Founded in 1958, the Southwest Section of the PGA of America is a professional organization serving the men and women golf professionals in Arizona and Southern Nevada, who are the recognized experts in growing, teaching and managing the game of golf. The Southwest Section PGA is responsible for the administration of competitive golf tournaments, junior golf programs and events, educational opportunities, support programs and growth of the game initiatives. With over 1300 members and associates, the Southwest Section PGA is the fifth largest of the 41 regional entities or Sections that comprise the PGA of America.
The Position:
The Director of the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Chapter's programs and services to support the Chapter's mission and objectives including the Strategic Plan of the Southwest PGA and Southern Nevada Chapter PGA. The Chapter Director will fulfill all required Chapter reporting including membership reporting, meetings, education attendance, tournament results, financial deposits, payout, receipt requirements, expense invoices and coding of expense invoices. The Director is responsible for executing and supporting Southern Nevada Chapter marketing, promotional and branding initiatives including helping grow and retain annual and long-term sponsorship revenue. Additional responsibilities include managing the execution of new and existing sponsorships, tournament activations and special events. The Director is required to provide on-site tournament support as well as programming and operational support of the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA's 40+ annual tournaments.
Location:
- This position reports directly to the Southwest Section PGA Senior Director of Operations (COO), who will coordinate with the Southwest PGA Executive Director and with the Southern Nevada Chapter Officers to set the strategic direction of the Chapter.
- This position shall work directly with Southern Nevada Chapter leadership and the Southwest PGA Executive Director to execute the strategic vision of the Chapter.
- This position will be home-based in the Las Vegas, Nevada market, with some Section-wide travel requirements. Travel throughout the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA's service area is required. Valid driver's license and full background check required.

Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
- Strong moral character and integrity with leadership qualities.
- Superb problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and follow-up.
- Demonstrated experience working in positions that require successful customer service, organization, and strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Prepared to work long hours during the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA's tournament season.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an exceptional ability to communicate effectively and present information to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with fellow Section staff members in a team atmosphere.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, online communication technologies and social media.
- Ability to write reports and standard business correspondence.
- Willing to travel extensively throughout Southern Nevada (Las Vegas).
- Ability to work with a broad spectrum of groups including host professionals, host superintendents, volunteers, amateur golfers, coaches, and sponsors.
- Flexibility for work schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Highly motivated individual willing to assist others in the ultimate success of the team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with the Chapter Board of Directors and Southwest PGA Executive Director in the development and maintenance of the budget; monitor monthly financial statements, reviews revenues and expenses relative to plans, and report variances on a monthly basis to Chapter officers.
- Work with tournament chairperson and develop annual chapter tournament schedules, secure facilities, golf course set-up, pairings and reporting results.
- Perform all Southern Nevada Chapter tournament operations, including, but not limited to, pairings, handicap research (where applicable), rules sheets, scoresheets, scorecards, and results.
- Coordinates all educational programming with the Chapter Education Committee.
- Work with the Board of Directors to coordinate, promote and produce all Chapter Meetings.
- Assist the Awards Committee in the Annual Awards process.
- Work with Southwest PGA staff to ensure accurate tracking of PGA membership classifications and eligibility of all Chapter Professionals.
- Attend Southwest PGA functions, meetings and educational seminars as prescribed by the Chapter Board of Directors and the Southwest PGA Executive Director.
- Strategically develop and execute plans for all marketing & sponsorship activations.
- Manage all Chapter sponsorship accounts on a day-to-day basis. Initiate and maintain constant communication and excellent business relations with all partners.
- Manage the activation of all Chapter sponsors for tournaments and special events.
- Manage development of sponsorship proposals, collateral and contracts.
- Creation & development of comprehensive proposals & presentations.
- Create marketing and sponsorship posts across all Chapter social media accounts.
- Manage all social media postings, including copywriting, photo & video editing and tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the COO including support of all departments when needed.
- Work closely with the Southwest PGA's Director of Junior Golf Operations to oversee Junior League
- Golf development within the Southern Nevada Chapter.
- Work in collaboration with the Southwest PGA's Director of Sales and Marketing to identify, cultivate and deliver new sponsorship revenues for the Southern Nevada Chapter.
- Work with the Executive Director of the Southwest PGA Foundation to enhance and develop community programming within the Las Vegas market, including PGA HOPE, and for general fundraising development and outreach within the Southern Nevada Chapter like Birdies for Good.
