- Survey Party Chief
Description
The Survey Party Chiefs primary function is to manage and direct a survey crew in the field. Typical project types include topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction stakeout. The Party Chief is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and oversee the use of survey instruments and equipment.
Perform field and office computations.
Manage and supervise crew members.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Work closely with the Supervisor to complete projects within assigned schedules.
Adhere to safety policies and utilize required personal protective equipment.
Travel to project sites, branch offices, and client offices as needed.
Participate in occasional overnight travel when required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
3+ years of experience as an Instrument Operator.
Basic computer and technology skills required to operate survey instruments.
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
Strong communication skills and leadership ability.
Positive attitude and desire to grow professionally.
Work Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods, as well as stand, walk, and lift/move 1050 lbs.
Ability to walk construction job sites and climb ladders.
Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and analyze data.
Occasional travel to offsite locations for work or meetings may be required.
Ability to remain on project sites for extended periods of time as needed.
