Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) is led by Liesl Elder who, as Chief Development and Alumni Engagement Officer at the University of Oxford, reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor. DAE’s mission is to help secure philanthropic support for the University, and build an engaged, informed and active alumni community. Through working in partnership with academic, development, and alumni colleagues throughout the collegiate University, DAE builds enduring relationships with external constituencies – including alumni, non-alumni, corporate and foundation donors – and increases financial support for agreed academic priorities.

About the Role
The Alumni Engagement Executive will bring to life those aspects of the Alumni Engagement Strategy which relate to, and are driven by, directives from within departments. Working under the direction of the Deputy Director of Alumni Engagement, the postholder will work closely with academic and administrative colleagues in the departments to develop meaningful engagement programmes with clear local impact, to encourage the tracking and celebration of alumni engagement within the departments and ensure that alumni have a consistent experience regardless of the subject they studied.
These are new roles within Development and Alumni Engagement, and as such offers the opportunity to help shape future alumni engagement with academic departments and other related sites such as the Careers Service, sports clubs, etc.
About You
You will have experience delivering engagement activities that result in clear progress towards strategic goals.
You will have extensive experience influencing colleagues and motivating teams to follow best practice outside of management lines.
You will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and advocacy skills, along with the ability to foster strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within a complex environment.
You will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop quality, accurate and consistent communications materials.
You will be comfortable working with a range of computer-based and online applications, including relationship management (CRM) systems.
You will be happy working in a team environment and proactive in working towards and supporting the goals of the wider team, as well as working well independently.
