Description
Summary: Immediate opportunity for an active portfolio manager responsible for primarily equity portfolios for sensitive high and ultra-high-net-worth relationships, including personal trusts, partnerships, and foundations. The position also coordinates outside investment managers with niche specialties and implementation with outside brokers. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and monitor portfolios and make recommendations on asset allocation and specific investments for personal trusts, partnerships, and foundations.
2. Manage cash flow needs and cash investments of trust accounts, partnerships, and foundations.
3. Monitor existing holdings and advise individual trustees of pertinent news items, Street comments, etc.
4. Coordinate with outside brokers on the implementation of investment decisions, trust and partnership funding and distributions, gifts, and charitable donations.
5. Manage relationships with outside investment managers.
6. Prepare and present investment performance as needed.
7. Coordinate and assist to best serve the clients' needs and desires. As this is a small firm focused on clients, all team members must be willing and able to step in and help wherever needed.
Experience: At least 5-10 years, preferably more, of trust equity portfolio management experience with high-net-worth clients.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
1. A bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Economics. An MBA and/or CFA are highly preferred.
2. Expertise in investment and portfolio management theory, accounting, financial principles, investment strategies, investment instruments, investment terminology, and characteristics of the various marketplaces acquired through formal education and work experience.
3. Working awareness of the laws and regulations governing trust investments, income and estate taxation, and trust accounting.
4. Maintain a current awareness of new investment strategies and instruments through regular contact with other industry professionals, as well as personal research.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Highly attentive to detail.
7. Proficiency on Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
