About Counseling and Consultation Service Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University and includes the suicide prevention program. The mission of CCS is to promote the well-being and academic success of students through access to diverse mental health services, outreach, while providing a multidisciplinary training program. The staff includes 53 senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and social workers), 33 trainees, and 12 administrative staff. Counseling and Consultation Service is housed in two main locations across campus, including the Younkin Success Center and the Lincoln Tower. Both locations house a variety of offices that support students' success at Ohio State.

Summary of Duties Provides outpatient care to University students seeking help for mental health problems; Collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals and support staff to provide outpatient care to University students seeking help for mental health problems; consultation with physicians, psychologists, social workers, counselors and other health professions on patient care; provides education and consultation to university faculty, staff and students on mental health concerns; provides individual treatment to students seeking help for mental health problems and provides consultation with other health professionals within and outside facility; plans and runs weekly psychiatry meetings; arranges and delegates the psychiatry coverage schedule; provides clinical consultation to staff and assists with hospitalizations if needed; communicates pertinent information and updates to senior staff and full time staff; attends Leadership Team meetings and sit on department leadership team; coordinates psychiatry services with Associate Director, Clinical Services; coordinates Psychiatry Resident rotation and liaison with Residency Training Director in the Department of Psychiatry; coordinates psychiatry trainings and Wilce rounds/consultations; supervises Psychiatry staff; coordinates referral for Psychiatry Intake; provides counseling for health issues and health education and other special tasks as approved. Participates in program review and improvement, provides clinical supervision to resident psychiatric staff; provides individual treatment to students seeking help for mental health problems.
Required Qualifications: At the time of hire licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, completed psychiatric residency training, have a valid permanent Ohio Medical License, a current DEA Certificate, and board eligible/certified by the American Board of Psychiatry. Eligible for OSU Department of Psychiatry, Clinical faculty appointment.
