Description
The Bioanalysis and Omics Center of the Analytical Resources Core seeks applications for a Post-Doctoral researcher (PD) in metaproteomics. The position is part of a recent NSF-supported initiative to enable metaproteomics analysis for several ongoing microbiome-centric research projects at Colorado State University. This position will be dedicated to implementing, developing, and or validating metaproteomics workflows, with particular emphasis on informatics. Required credentials include a Ph.D and experience in an appropriate field, including one or more of the following: proteomics and/or metaproteomics data analysis, metagenomics data analysis, mass spectrometry informatics, peptide/protein mass spectrometry. This position will have opportunities in both collaborative and independent research supporting analytical knowledge and assay development within our facility and will also contribute actively to the establishment of Colorado State University as a leader in metaproteomic applications.
Application instructions:
Applicants must apply for the position through the jobs.colostate.edu interface. https://jobs.colostate.edu/postings/95188. Note that this position posting is an open pool, and the position description within it does not accurate describe the Metaproteomics position. In your submitted documents please respond to the position description provided in this in this PDF. A CV and contact information for three professional references are required. ARC-BIO – Analytical Resources Core: Bioanalysis and Omics Center.
ARC-BIO is a Center within the Analytical Resources Core (ARC), operated under the Office of the Vice President for Research and is located on the CSU main campus in the Microbiology building. The mission of ARC-BIO is to serve as an enabling resource for research and development programs at Colorado State University. We strive to build mass spectrometry instrument capabilities that exceed the normal resources of individual research programs and make those technologies available as a shared resource. We also aim to provide an environment rich in expertise and educational resources, and to foster collaboration across the CSU community and beyond. ARC-BIO works in concert with other ARC Centers, including Imaging and Surface Science (ISS) and Materials and Molecular Analysis (MMA) to provide analytical services to researchers at CSU, other academic institutions, governmental and non-profit organizations and corporate entities.
Responsibilities
The PD will be expected to work with the ARC-BIO Director, staff, and collaborators to develop collective expertise in the area mass spectrometry-based protein analysis of complex multispecies samples. This position will require both an eagerness to perform collaborative and service-oriented work as well as an ability to operate independently to advance our metaproteomics services. We are particularly interested in informatics expertise. A respect for timelines and deadlines, other ARC-BIO staff, and the clients we serve are all critical to success.
