Description

The Maine Pooled Disability Trust Management Company is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which manages and serves as trustee for two pooled supplemental needs trusts, both located in the State of Maine.  The Maine Pooled Disability Trusts are designed to enable disabled individuals with assets to retain those assets yet still qualify for means tested public benefits.  The trusts’ primary beneficiaries are those who lack the resources to otherwise hire a professional trustee, such as a bank or trust company, directly.  The trusts were first established in the early 2000’s and have been serving Maine beneficiaries for over 20 years.

 Responsibilities include managing approximately 100 sub-accounts of the trusts, the average size being around $44,000.  This includes working closely with both the trusts’ investment manager, as well as directly with the beneficiaries of the trusts to help them utilize their trust assets to improve their day to day lives.  

 The Management Company is looking for an organized and driven individual who seeks to continue the trust’s history of growth and service to the beneficiaries.  The trusts currently have nearly $5 Million under management, which has increased over 40% in the past ten years. 

Requirements

Experience with public benefits programs, prior trust management, and/or a J.D. is preferred.
