Description

This Executive Administrative Assistant provides high-level executive administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Research and Analysis in RAND's Washington DC office.  The incumbent will serve as a confidential assistant and requires discretion and professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, capacity to work both independently and directly with the office of the Senior Vice President of Research and Analysis and its stakeholders both inside and outside of RAND.  The position requires independent judgment in prioritizing a wide range of support responsibilities and the ability to handle multiple complex tasks within required deadlines. In addition, an important component of this position requires working closely with the other corporate officers and their assistants in handling a variety of material and subject matter of a sensitive and confidential nature. The position will require working closely with leaders in the President’s Office and Research and Analysis organization. The incumbent will also be working with senior government officials and RAND clients.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, planning and supporting meetings, events, and travel. Corporate duties may also include providing assistance with corporate-related functions as well as being available to assist with any overflow work and/or to provide general back-up assistance to other executive officers, as needed. 

An important element of the duties include drafting and/or preparing correspondence, memos, reports, presentations and briefings, meeting agendas, as well as organizing and responding to a large volume of electronic mail; maintaining and organizing office filing systems to enable ready access to and retrieval of correspondence and documents; and other related responsibilities as assigned.



Requirements

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently, exhibit good judgment, and possess the ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal direction. The position requires several years of high-level administrative experience and demonstrated exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. A strong sense of discretion is required in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.  Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. It is also essential that the individual be a team player and be able to demonstrate tact, courtesy and judgment in working with all levels of individuals within and outside of RAND.

Must possess advanced computer skills in Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to produce a variety of high-quality documents in a timely, error-free fashion.

Experience

Must have 6 years or more of relevant high level administrative support experience.

Education

BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Clearance

U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.  An active secret clearance is preferred.
