Description

As a key member of the Data Foundations organization, you'll be a founding member of a suite of data products that will transform how our customers manage, modernize, and access their data! Your knowledge of the ways users engage with online products and tools will help create the experiences that will shape our roadmap for years to come. Leadership will look to you to leverage design systems, design patterns, prototyping techniques, and your unique understanding of customer journeys to construct intuitive, easy-to-use experiences that vastly improve the way our customers get their work done.

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, you will be responsible for designing innovative customer journeys that provide a seamless, easy to use, end-to-end workflow that spans across multiple data-related functions, products, and services that include data pipeline management, publishing, and consumption.

You will have a keen understanding of the product's target audience and in-depth knowledge of relevant product features. You will collaborate with our product and technology teams to develop innovative concepts and your work will help drive feature requirements and roadmaps. You will work with researchers to identify customer pain points, personas, journeys, and problem statements and incorporate those findings into your artifact creation for continuous improvement. You'll also share your work with other creatives to collaborate on and improve mockup creation while ensuring adherence to the design system.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with the Product and Technical teams, content producers, researchers, and developers to produce and improve product artifacts.
  • Partner with Product to aggregate, analyze, and act on customer data in order to improve customer engagement.
  • Own the end-to-end artifacts for delightful customer experiences for multiple products within the Data Foundations org.
  • Partner with researchers to define, contribute, and maintain user-centric design processes that include market analysis, customer feedback, customer interviews, usability testing, and behavioral analytics.
  • Use business requirements, competitive analysis, research findings, and your skills developing delightful experiences to help identify use cases and high-level requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An available online portfolio
  • 6+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
  • 6+ years of experience designing for web-based, responsive, and accessible applications
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 7+ years equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated functional and technical expertise with design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc
  • Demonstrated proficiency in best practices for web-based application information architecture design, design patterns, usability principles, and techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using and contributing to (atomic) design systems, both for consistency of branding and for efficiency in code.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree
  • Visual and graphic design experience
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Good storytelling skills will raise the bar!
  • Experience conducting user research, analyzing quantitative customer data, and gathering other voice of customer data.
