Company Profile

Lincoln Families

Company Overview

What We Do
Since our founding in 1883 as the first racially integrated orphanage in Northern California, Lincoln has impacted the lives of children and families through evolving programs. Today, we provide preventative, individualized and comprehensive support services with a focus on three core areas that disrupt cycles of poverty and trauma:

Education: Improving educational engagement, attendance, literacy, and achievement
Family: Strengthening stability and creating permanency
Well-Being: Building positive youth outlook and future readiness

How We Do It
Every day, in communities throughout our region, Lincoln is providing real solutions to the unique issues our children, youth, and families face. At Lincoln, we go where children and youth are, walking alongside them to develop skills to stay at home and in school. Teams of skilled and diverse staff work together with youth and families to utilize their strengths and build a plan for success. With this critical support, our children, youth and families thrive and build bold futures.

Only Lincoln has the culturally relevant, adaptive approach that meets the needs of children and families. Our multi-generational model sets a new standard of support that changes lives.

Company History

In 1883, Rebecca McWade, our founder, opened her home for what would become the first racially integrated orphanage in Northern California and began Lincoln’s legacy of responding to the needs of children and families.
Today, we impact more than 27,500 children and families annually, and our track record is proven: kids attend school, learn to read and stay with their families where they do best. With Lincoln, they beat the odds, realizing their potential, and building successful academic, work and life skills.

Benefits

Lincoln offers a comprehensive benefits package to all regular, full-time employees and part-time employees working 20 hours or more per week. In brief, our benefits package includes health insurance offerings for medical, dental and vision coverage with a substantial employer-paid subsidy for employees and dependents; voluntary offerings for life insurance, long-term disability and flexible spending accounts; Employee Assistance Program benefits; and generous paid-time benefits of at least eight weeks per year combining PTO/sick/vacation and holidays. In addition, after the completion of one year of service, employees are eligible to participate in one of our employer matching and/or sponsored retirement plans and employer-paid group life insurance.
