WAMC, established in 1982, is a non-commercial 501(c)(3), public radio station broadcasting twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with a schedule of news, information, music, and cultural programming. WAMC’s charter directs them to “furnish, prepare, and present non-profit and non-commercial educational, instructional and cultural radio programs.” The purpose of WAMC is to serve the public, bringing award-winning news and information that is important to them, reflecting their diversity in WAMC’s programming.
