About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Project Manager to join a leading payment organization and drive company-wide AI initiatives. This role sits within a cross-functional team responsible for developing innovative services and accelerating AI adoption across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and promote AI initiatives across the payment organization
• Manage end-to-end delivery of AI and machine learning projects
• Define project milestones, deliverables, and success metrics
• Build and organize cross-functional project teams
• Oversee risk management, dependencies (WBS), and project timelines
• Monitor, report, and communicate project status to stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and business teams
• Drive operational efficiency using machine learning and generative AI
• Support internal consulting and promote AI utilization across the business
• Ensure successful project delivery through strong governance and execution

Team & Environment

• Work within a department dedicated to cross-functional service development and AI advancement
• Collaborate daily with project managers, engineers, and data scientists
• Directly partner with two data scientists
• Engage with both internal stakeholders and external merchant partners
• Highly collaborative, innovation-driven team culture

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AI project management
• Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, and data science concepts
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering and data science teams
• Strong knowledge or background in machine learning
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Preferred Background

• Degree in a scientific field (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, etc.)
• Experience in AI-driven operational efficiency or platform development
• Hands-on exposure to AI/ML project implementation

Language Requirements

• Japanese: Business level (JLPT N2 or equivalent)
• English: Business level (TOEIC 800+ or equivalent)
